Valerie K. Bostwick

​I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Kansas State University and an IZA Research Fellow. My research applies both microeconomic theory and advanced econometric techniques to the study of leading empirical questions in the economics of education and education policy. I am interested in the broad topic of uncovering the determinants of human capital accumulation and have a particular interest in higher education and the pipeline of students into science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. I am drawn to research questions that are policy-relevant and that address issues related to diversity and inequality in education and the labor force.
